I'm having difficulties scanning and would appreciate some help. I'm really puzzled here. The problems seem to start when I initiate scan activity from the printer.
Here is details about my configuration and repro steps.
* The wireless network is a Private Network, and in Network and Sharing Center Advanced sharing settings, Turn on network discovery is enabled, Turn on file and printer sharing is enabled.
* The printer is configured to static IP http://192.168.1.10.
When I got to that "site" and configure the scan folder, I use these values:
* Display Name: Personal Scans
* Network Path: \\mycomputername\scan (this folder is shared)
* Username: \\mycomputername\Chris
* Password: mypassword
I click save and test, and it says "The test has been completed successfully".
Once I've created this scan-to folder, I can now use the scan utility on the computer, initiate a scan, save it to this network folder, and everything works. The utility causes the printer to wake up, scan the document in the feed, and save it to my scan folder.
Now, when I go to the printer, Choose Scan, Scan to Network Folder, and choose Personal Scans, the printer stalls at "connecting to Personal Scans" and after several minutes it times out.
Then, when I go back to the http://192.168.1.10 configuration page, the Scan tab, and "test" the folder I just set up, it now sometimes says that "the test was unsuccessful", or it just spins for a long time trying to connect. Either way, I can no longer ever get the test to be successful.
Also, now when I try to use the scan utility on the computer, I get the error "The scanner is currently in use..."

In summary, when I iniatate the scan from the printer, it not only doesn't work when it should, but it screws up what was working previously.

As part of my troubleshooting, I've run Scan/Print Doctor and it reports back everything is fine. I've turned off and on both the computer and the printer multiple times. The computer is running Windows 10 and I have McAfee virus protection.
I would really like to use the scan funtion directly from the printer and initiate scans from there instead of walking back and forth between the two machines (put the paper on the scanner, walk to the computer, run the utility, etc). Furthermore, everytime I initiate a scan from the printer, it screws up the share/configurations and I have to go back to the http://192.168.1.10 site and re-set everything up and start over.
This used to work, i.e. I used to be able to initiate scans from the scanner and have it correctly save to the network share, but at some point it stopped working and I don't know why.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
