Hello,
Have had the unit for about 60 days - and it has performed perfectly, until today.
When scanning any document, a bright red vertical line shows up about an inch or more off the left margin.
Tried the HP Print and Scan Doctor, which essentially updated all software, with no change in performance.
Greatly appreciate any and all feedback on a fix.
Thank you.
Kind regards,
Mark
When I press "FAX", I get error message "Fax hardware is either missing or not seated. Press (OK) to clear. I pressed (OK). Then tried process again...same message.
Tried turn-on/off...still same thing. This worked a couple days ago...now nothing works
HPScan was working well with Win 8.1 now at times HPScan does not find the printer-scanner although it is listed on the same network and print OK
I have an HP Officejet 6110 that has not been used for two years now. It still prints though. However when I try to print, paper jam error occurs. When I press enter to clear the paper jam, it starts printing. For printing jobs, it is always been like that: Paper jam first then I clear the paper jam then it starts to print whatever I'm printing. It's good that its printing but why paper jam?
However, for the copy feature, this doesn't follow. Whenever I copy, the printer always says "Paper Jam, clear the jam and press enter". And take note there is no actual paper jam that's what I believe because it prints documents (after I clear the first paper jam on a print job). Sometimes it says paper too narrow. I have cleaned the media sensor already. But the paper jam message is the most consistent. Please help me with this, I just brought cartridges for this printer for my project. THank you so much!
I am experiencing a 'communication error' when trying to do 'Color Scans' from my LaserJet Pro 200 using HP Scan. Black&White as well as Gray scale work fine. The error is the same as that posted by "RightonMoney" on 8/4/15.
I have tried to fully uninstall and reinstall the drivers (3x now). I have updated the firmware. I have also ran HP Scan & Print Doctor which in my case did not resolve the problem. The error seems to be related to the Windows WIA test. That said, I have also tried to stop the service, then run HPSPDr...no change. I have tried to stop and restart WIA service. No change.
Color scanning worked fine with the same computer running Windows 8.1. Only after my upgrade to Windows 10 did this problem appear.
Any help or further troubleshooting tips will be appreciated...
after scanning document into my email it gives me a error and will not let me send the document out from my email. it gives me a error message. i have been useing this scanner for months and it has worked fine till a few days ago
Respected Sir,
After completed scanning the scanned document saved more than 5 times.please give solution for this issue.
We have a HP 8600 Plus All-In-One printer which is just over 1 year old. The printer works well and we rarely use the automatic document feeder but suddenly, its not feeding at all. It's not even trying to feed. Instead it makes a fast "shave and a haircut" type sound as if a motor is going forwards and backwards but not engaging the internal gears to feed the paper.
We tried all of the ideas in the standard HP troubleshooting support documents but to no avail. There is no paper jammed in the printer and all of the parts are clean and they look like they are in the right place.
We found a YouTube video from someone else who seems to have exactly the same problem as we do. The problem sounds the same and is quite different from the normal sound made by the ADF.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWhIaqklHAI
The comments after the video (in Spanish) say that he sent the printer to be serviced. It was repaired. The repair person said that it was a small motor. However, it soon had the same problem. (I personally think that this is not an electrical problem but a mechanical linkage problem.)
Are we as screwed as the guy who originally posted this video? Does HP have a good solution for this particular problem that specifically afflicts HP 8600 printers?
I used the upgrade which was sent by microsoft to upgrade from windows 7 to 10. Everything is working fine exept the scan function of my printer.
If I use the HP Support assistant it recognizes the printer, but when I use HP Scan (from the programlist) I get an error message saying the scanner cannot be reached. Also the scan and faxsoftware within windows says that the scanner cannot be reached.
The printfunction is working properly.
I'm truly diappointed since this is the third time over years that I upgrade my windows product and I have issues with my HP hardware. (Which is not realy the hardware but always the software from HP which is not supported or so).
Hope you have an answer for me.
With kind regards,
Martijn
im using websan to scan a document, but cant find the save icon to allow me to save it to my computer
thanks
I have a Brothers printer/scanner/fax - MFC8690DW. When I upgraded to Windows 10, I lost the scanning function. Prior to the upgrade, I had a "Brothers Scan" in the app list. That's gone. There is a "Scan" app listed, but when I click on it, it says my scanner is not connected. I didn't change anything, just upgraded to Windows 10.
Wouldn't scan or copy, during remote diagnose/fix routine printer stalled with error code shown.
thanks in advance!

Hi,
I was able to scan and fax prior to today so I'm not sure what happened. However, today I'm getting a message that the option to scan has been disabled. When I go under settings I have to enter an admin username and password which I do not have. Please help.
Thanks
My all in one wireless printer, copier and scanner is linked to my computer. I have no problems with printing documents, but cannot scan. How do I rectify this?
I threw out my black ink cartridge since was out of ink, but now I cannot scan. The printer just has a warning saying it is missing a cartridge. Do I really have to buy a cartridge even though I only want to use it as a scanner now?
I am unable to scan to my PC.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, I ran the scan doctor several times.
I tried following the instructions provided in the forum . The last thing I tried was tsee if the scan was enabled in the printer file. I opened the HP folder, thenclicked on the printer folder
The HP Printer Assistant opened with a yellow triangle and exclamation mark in the middle and the following

Can anyone help me figure out why I can't get scan to work on my PC. I am trying to scan wirelessly. BTW scanning works fine on my Mac Laptop
I scanned a multi-page document through the ADF, and when I saved the scanned pages, it saved as individual pages. On my other scanners, there was an option to check "Save to one file" but I didn't see it here. Help! This is so friggin' frustrating.
I have an Epson CX4450 printer. How can I copy something and send it to a file on my laptop in order to e-mail as an attachment?
